OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION
Regulate the seed industry
Develop operational ethics and guidelines that will regulate all aspects of the industry, so as to sanitize the entire system for legitimacy, to mobilize its entire membership which include Private Seed Companies, (Small/Medium/Large) Corporate Public Institutions, individual’s membership from across different disciplines from Universities, Research Institutes, Colleges of Agriculture and others of diverse agricultural background on seed matters for a united action.
Join hands with others in formulating policies that will promote the growth of the Industry in line with International practices world-wide.
4 Key Achievements of the Association
Supplied improved certified Seeds to National development and food security programs from 2003 to date. For example, over 180,000 mt of assorted seeds were supplied to States during the GES programme in Nigeria.
Provided support to assist Gambia and Sierra Leone during the Ebola Virus outbreak in 2014.
Exported high-quality seeds to Ghana in support of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana.
Partnered with several developmental agencies (AGRA, IOWA University, DFID, IARCs, FAO, WASP, USAID, CORAF/WECARD etc.) to build the capacity of stakeholders in the seed value chain.
